    One of the interesting points in the article is that participants pointed out their nodes to others, as if they were “keeping score.” .. visualising your social network turns it into a popularity race? (or makes the social network graph turn into a clique?)

    Yup, raises some interesting questions about how our (new?) awareness of social networks might change how we socialise. It’s not only in subatomic physics that you change things by looking at them. ;-)
